{Closed} GIVEAWAY & REVIEW – Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lash Mascara

When it comes to makeup, lashes are my everything! I’ve used fake lashes and extensions. I’ve tried high end mascaras, drugstore brands and everything in between. One brand didn’t do everything I wanted it to so my holy grail mascara regimen involves two. On any given day I layer a coat of Benefit’s “They’re Real” with Maybelline Volum’ Express “Falsies.” I swear by these two products especially when used together. However, that doesn’t mean I’m opposed to trying new things.

Cue Younique’s “Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes.” I’d never even heard of Younique before but I was asked if I wanted to review their new mascara and figured what the heck. Their website describes the product as nothing short of a miracle…

“Packaged in two separate bottles, the Transplanting Gel and Natural Fibers are used together to enhance and magnify your OWN lashes. Watch your lashes transform into something you only dreamed of! A 300% increase in thickness and volume to your lashes while still looking completely real and natural. Potentially “mood-altering” 3D Fiber lashes will quickly become your favorite makeup accessory! Water resistant, yet easily washes off with warm water and facial cleanser.”

I was impressed by the packaging but did this stuff really work? I mean, a 300% increase?! It seems to good to be true.

The directions say to apply one layer of transplanting gel followed by a coat of natural fibers. Below you’ll see a series of progression photos:

1 – Au Natural Lashes

2 – One coat of Younique’s Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lash

3 – Because I love my lashes super thick, I decided to add a second coat.

4 – The directions say you can use your own mascara first then layer Younique’s Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lash. In this photo I did just that. (Please forgive my smudged eye liner.)

Holy lashes! Do I think this increased my lashes 300%? Ehhhh. Do I think it’s worth a try? Absolutely! I like this mascara because it’s like wearing false lashes without having to worry about them falling off in the middle of a date or night out. Both the gel and fibers are $29 and comes in the nice carrying case.

Younique is a company similar to Stella & Dot where anyone can become a consultant and sell their products to friends and family. I’d like to thank Justine for sending me the Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes and two color pigments in the colors Flirty (purple) and Sexy (gold). I used a touch of each color in the photos above in conjunction with some shadows I already own.

  1. Right now I use a type of Volume Express mascara and it really does nothing for me, compared to the commercials. I would love to see what Younique could do for me!

  2. At this point I have been using cover girl volume mascara in an effort to give myself the appearance of more eye lashes. I also use a curler for my lashes. I sadly have short straight lashes; however, yours are beautiful!! Jealous! 🙂

    1. You’re very kind, Nikki. 🙂 Have you ever tried warming up your lash curler before using? It helps your lashes keep their shape. Just don’t get your curler TOO hot or else you’ll burn your lids. Eek!

  3. I use Tarte mascara. It’s absolutely AMAZING. A bit expensive but so totally worth it. It’s 100% natural, and made with Amazonian Clay. I cannot stress enough how awesome it is. But I would LOVE to try Younique.

  4. If I could only use one makeup for the rest of my life, it would definitely be mascara! My lashes are so light and sparse, mascara totally changes the look of my eyes!

  5. I use powder to even out my skin my town. I’m so red, it irritating. I used to wear make-up all the time but stopped. Now I feel like a bit of a clown wearing make-up again. But the older I get, there definitely is more of a need. Lol!

  6. If I could only choose one makeup item it would have to be an eyelash curler. My lashes are short and flat so I need all the oomph I can get

    1. Have you ever tried warming up your eyelash curler with a blow dryer before using it? It helps the curl stay. Just be careful not to get it too hot or else you’ll burn your lids. Eek!

  7. I do makeup for events and stuff so finding new product is fun for me. But if I had to choose one product it would have to be mascara because that is what brings out the eyes the most. Especially for those constantly on the go. Instead of applying all this makeup you can just apply some blush and mascara and be out the door.

  8. This looks promising, I’ve tried so many of the products that promise longer, thicker lashes and they just don’t deliver. At my age (55) I’d love something that would give me some real results!

  9. I probably had 10+ mascaras at home going to waste because I just can’t find one I like that makes my lashes look long and full! This is a must try!

  10. I use Lash Blast by Covergirl, and it works pretty well for me with a couple coats. I do a coat of clear gel first to help separate my lashes and prevent clumping. I’d love to try this one out!

  11. It would be mascara for me! I would love to win these!! Ever since losing my right eye and having eye surgeryy lashes just won’t stay with regular mascara! This would be amazing!!!!

  12. Mascara for sure!!! I use a cover girl mascara that I love but I’ve been dying to try these fiber lashes. With mascara your whole face just pops and looks more lively! It’s an everyday must!

  13. If I could only use one makeup product it would definitely be mascara. It opens the eyes and really just changes a look with little effort. Now if I had to choose only one brand of mascara, then it’d be tricky cause I love They’re Real, Buxom, and UD Super Curl. All amazing mascaras! =)

Ellen, speaking of eyelashes, have you ever tried, or know anyone that has tried, a product like Godefroy 28 Day Mascara Permanent Eyelash Tint Kit? Just thought I’d ask since I know you like to try products. =)

  14. If I could only use one makeup product it would be mascara. Simple to use yet opens the eyes up plus doesn’t make me look as tired as I am in the morning. Great for when you’re getting up at 4am.

  15. If I could use only one item it would be mascara — I look so incredibly tired without mascara — but a few swipes of that wand and I suddenly look wide awake (okay, maybe that is after a cup of coffee or three) but honestly, I can’t leave the house without mascara. I love Smashbox full exposure mascara, it is $20 but so worth it — those times when I’m feeling a little tight in the wallet I’ll go and buy something at the drugstore and I always end up regretting it cause it just never does the trick but I have to say, your pictures have my attention!!

  16. If I could only use one makeup product it would be mascara for sure. I have horse eyelashes-long and straight. My favorite mascara is CoverGirl waterproof Lash Blast. It’s the only mascara i have found that doesn’t uncurl my eyelashes after I have already curled them. I would love to try this though, your eyelashes look amazing!!

  17. If I could only use one makeup product it would definitely be mascara. And daaaaaang girl, your lashes look amazing! I would love for mine to look that good!

  18. If I could only use one makeup product it would be my cream to powder foundation. Putting that on everyday just makes me feel just a little but more confident, even if I am home in my pjs I still put it on. 🙂

  19. Thanks for the review Ellen. And thanks to everyone for entering. Congrats to our winner!!
