Thank You & Goodbye to 100.7 The Wolf

It was a journey that moved me from Michigan to the Great Northwest and oh what a wonderful adventure it’s been. My time on the radio at 100.7 The Wolf comes to an end and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunities I was given over the past 6 years. Along with change comes questions and I hope the video explains everything! xo.

When He Comes Back to Town, Better Hide The Wine!

Carly Pearce & Ellen Tailor at 100.7 The Wolf's Hometown Throwdown

The argument about women in today’s country music format is not a new topic of discussion and it won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. Are women being overlooked for less talented men? Should female artists be played alongside men even if their product is sub-par? This can go a million different ways and with the world being at odds over everything these days, we won’t be debating it here. What will happen is nothing but a little love for a song that’s piqued my interest and hopefully it catches your attention, too.

Carly Pearce recently went to #1 with her single “Every Little Thing,” and working in radio, I’ve heard it roughly 230 million times. (Ok, so I exaggerate but you get it.) Maybe I’m jaded. Maybe I’m hard to please. Maybe I expect more from female artists being a woman myself. Regardless, when I heard, “Hide the Wine,” I was immediately taken back to that moment every woman has gone through at least once (and only once if you’re lucky but yeah right.)

“Hide The Wine”

I heard you were back in town
It’s been a hot minute since me and you were hanging out
Yeah we had that crazy kind of chemistry
Where you get burned, don’t learn, don’t care, just reach for another match and gasoline Well knock knock, here you come a knockin’ on my door
But you’re gonna have to wait on the porch

Better hide the wine
And get it gone
Oh I better hide every one of them records that turn me on (lock ‘um up, lock ‘um up)
Turn up the lights
And kill the mood
Oh ’cause baby I just don’t trust myself with you
I better hide the wine

Well I know me and I know you
I better get rid of all the Two Buck Chuck and the high-dollar good stuff too
‘Cause baby if I don’t, you know what we’ll do
Oh oh with one sip, one tip, we’ll be sitting on the couch, you’ll be kicking off your shoes

Better hide the wine
And get it gone
Oh I better hide every one of them records that turn me on (lock ‘um up, lock ‘um up)
Turn up the lights
And kill the mood
Oh ’cause baby I just don’t trust myself with you
I better hide the wine

Oh I better hide the wine, yeah

Oh knock knock here you come a knockin’ on my door
But you’re gonna have to wait another minute on the porch
Oh no, no, it’s a dangerous thing pouring alcohol on an old flame

Hide the wine
And get it gone
Oh I better hide every one of them records that turn me on (lock ‘um up, lock ‘um up)
Turn up the lights
And kill the mood
Oh ’cause baby I just don’t trust myself with you
I better hide the wine
Oh I better hide the wine, yeah
Oh I better hide the wine

Hailey’s Halloween as…ME?!

Hailey and her very own Charlie!

We asked kids on the show what they were going to be for Halloween. Hailey text in saying she was dressing up as me. I couldn’t believe it! Mom promised her a stuffed replica of my pup, Charlie, to complete her costume. What Hailey didn’t know is that her mom & I were surprising her with a trip to Build-A-Bear. Be prepared for all the feels as you watch this…

Seeker of Country Glam

While I should be packing boxes, I’m procrastinating by spending more time than I care to admit on Pinterest. I’ve already decided the color palette of my new master bedroom (in case you missed that post, check it out here) now comes the fun stuff. Accessorizing! Just like styling an outfit, the way you accessorize your bedroom reflects your personal taste. For me, I choose pieces that incoroprate the life I live and the life I want. Let me explain.

If you didn’t know, I co-host a morning show on a country radio station. Obviously that’s a big part of my life but I’m not going to go all yee-haw with my decor. When I first got hired my co-workers called me the “country Kardashian.” So how do I combine my country life with the glam I dream about?

Ellen Tailor The Seeker Shop Gold Ombre

Look at this piece I found on Seeker! Umm hello!! This SCREAMS country glam! And the mixed metals?! I hate to sound like “that girl” but c’mon, I die! While they’ve got a bunch of one-of-a-kind decor, the cow skulls are what really spoke to me! (Ok Ellen, let’s ease up on the exclamation points.) After I creeped on their Instagram I was more confused (and tempted) as ever.

Which one to get? Which one to call my own? See a piece you like? Snag it while you still can because once it’s gone, it’s gone. On that note, I better make my purchase before one of you buys the one I want. 😉

You don’t need to spend top dollar for everything in your home. Some pieces you invest in, others you repurpose or upcycle, and sometimes you just flat out splurge on! When I discovered Seeker, everything in me screamed, “MUST HAVE! WANT! GET!” What are you waiting for? Treat yourself!
