Painting my own nails is a form of meditation. Silly, I know. I probably paint them 2-3 times a week but I never had the patience to do it before discovering these little tips and tricks. Don’t struggle like I did, watch my how-to tutorial and paint away! I’d also love it if you subscribed to my YouTube channel and shared this video with your fellow polish loving friends. 🙂
I’ve always wanted to try Henna and I finally got the chance to! Henna shops seem to pop up at every fair and festival. I got mine done at Bumbershoot, a 3-day music festival in the heart of downtown Seattle.
Getting inked is painless and it dries into a pretty red color that fades within 2-3 weeks. The woman that did mine did such great work! This is around day 5 or 6. I wash my hands quite often so it faded a lot quicker than I wanted it to but it was fun to rock nonetheless!
Thanks to the loyal reader who reminded me bout this perfect summer polish color! OPI’s My Chihuahua Bites has been sitting in the back my polish collection for so long I really did forget about it. What are your go-to colors for summer?
I’m lucky enough to have a job where I can wear pretty much whatever. I’m on the radio so no one really cares what I wear as long as I wear something. I can’t be showing up naked of course! If I really wanted to, I could get away with wearing pajamas everyday but I try to go by the theory of, “Look good. Feel good.”
I saw this lace panel blouse on ASOS but it was sold out. I went to the second best place, Poshmark. If you don’t know, Poshmark is a website and app where you can buy & sell clothes. Voila! It was there!
Next, I strapped on my new favorite Michael Kors watch. Look at that sparkle! What a show off. My nails are Sally Hansen in Mint Sorbet. This is my new favorite nail polish brand. Sure I love Essie but it’s hard to justify an $8 bottle of nail polish when I can snag this Sally Hansen bottle for less than $3!
This blouse is listed on my Poshmark site so feel free to snag it for yourself! Click HERE to shop my closet and other items that have been featured on my blog. If you haven’t signed up for Poshmark yet, use the code HFZCI for a $5 credit!

My mom and sister are flying in from Michigan so we can all be together for Mother’s Day for the first time in three years. My mom is excited to have both her girls together and I wanted to find a way to pamper both of them and couldn’t imagine taking them anywhere but Gene Juarez.
When I moved to Seattle a little over two years ago, I was overwhelmed that I had to start from scratch when it came to my glam team. I’ll be honest. I was very intimidated by Gene Juarez thinking it was only for high society clients that had no budget when it came to their hair.
We did a promotion with The Wolf where a group of Gene Juarez‘s finest came in and pampered the entire morning show with manis & pedis. Everyone was so nice and down to earth! But what really sold me was after my recent hair emergency and my experience at their downtown location.
There was no doubt I was going to spoil my mom and sister, but I procrastinate…a lot. If you’re like me and haven’t done anything more than think about what to do, Gene Juarez has the best solution ever! They offer printable gift cards for all of us last minute shoppers that can be sent to your email as you head to brunch with dear old mom. Genius, right?! The Gene Juarez team made sure the gift cards were beautiful when printed last minute, too! Click HERE to shop, call (206) 861-0909, or visit any of Gene Juarez’s 10 salons & spas.
Are you a last minute shopper? What are you doing for your mom?
Pinterest inspired me yet again with a DIY manicure but I’m not quite sure how I feel about this. To create this two-tone trend, I used the nude OPI Tickle My France-y and a neon yellow shade from Lime Crime Crema de Limon that I got in an IPSY bag a few months ago.
Give me your honest opinon. Yay OR Nay on the two-tone nail manicure?
