Weight Loss Wednesday #17 – Setting New Goals

A few weeks ago I blogged about how bored I am with my healthy lifestyle. There is nothing new or exciting about it anymore. It’s become a routine. While it’s good that my normal routine is now a healthier one, I need to be reinspired. So I thought long and hard about what gets me excited. If you’re a loyal reader of this blog then you already know the answer. If you’re not, let me tell you a little secret. I like clothes!

My new, short term, goal is a simple one. Lose some weight and treat myself to an outfit from Lorna Jane. Out of all the active wear out there, none are as stylish as this line. I spent a loooong time on their website and got lost in the pretty colors, inspirational tanks, and subtly sexy leggings.

Sure, you can throw on a pair of sweatpants and an old t-shirt to hit the gym in. But if your goal is to feel better about the way you look, why not dress the way you want to feel? To be 100% transparent, I’m one size too big for this line. I wish I could open my wallet today and make a purchase. Instead, I have to work hard for what I want. Don’t get crazy and buy things that are four sizes too small then beat yourself up when you can’t hit that goal. Take small steps towards big change.

Here’s my Lorna Jane dream outfit:

Lorna Jane Ellen Tailor PicksIn a perfect world, I’d be able to splurge on these goodies in a month. But the world isn’t perfect and sometimes, things happen. If it takes me 6 weeks instead of 4, that’s fine! As long as I hit my goal, I don’t care how long it takes me to get there because I’ve got confidence in myself that I’ll make it happen. Until then I’ll dream about going into Lorna Jane on Westlake Ave. in downtown Seattle, walking into a dressing room, and having my dream outfit on and feeling damn proud of this journey I’m on!

What goals do you have? What tips or tricks can you share about staying focused and inspired?
