White After Labor Day…Do It!

Ellen Tailor Rocks the Runway SeattleThrow out the old school theory and wear white after Labor Day. White was on trend last winter and it is here to stay!

Admittedly I bought this white pleated skirt from Macy’s two years ago. I wore it once then got too fat to wear it again…until now. (In fact, I’ve lost even more weight since we took these pictures.) I had a tailor, thanks Mom, cut the lining so the bottom half of the skirt was sheer.

As the weather starts to turn, I’ll be pairing this skirt with either a cropped sweater or even maybe a baggy one that’s knotted at the waist. The possibilities are endless!

I’d like to thank the beautiful city of Seattle for providing the STUNNING sunset backdrop for this shoot. God, I love you! Unfortunately, we snapped these pics a few weeks ago when the sun was still shining. Only 10 more months until summer!

Stressed But Well Dressed

Stressed But Well Dressed Zara White Clutch Crop Top

Summer’s in Seattle are what dreams are made of. Shopping, on the other hand, is more often times a nightmare. That’s why I prefer to shop online. I snagged this clutch from Poshmark.

Poshmark is a website and also a very convenient app for buying and selling clothes. Imagine eBay but WAY better, easier, and there’s no listing fees. Poshmark provides shipping labels for free and they take just 20% commission.

I saw this listing for a Zara clutch and knew I had to have it! I made the purchase and within 3 days, it was in my grubby hands.

Red, White, and Blue Weekend

I spent the 4th of July weekend in beautiful Colorado
with some of my dearest friends.

(Garden of the Gods – Colorado Springs, CO)

The “Red” part of the Red, White & Blue Weekend
Hiking the gorgeous Red Rocks

Another “Red” part of the Red, White & Blue Weekend

The red glow of a bar in downtown Denver with my new friends.

Farris, Troy, and Jeff taking a night off from working on CMT’s “Dog & Beth: On the Hunt”

The “White” part of the Red, White & Blue Weekend
Mr. & Mrs. Nick @ Nite!!!

Nick and I both grew up in Grand Rapids, MI, and now live in the Great Northwest.
Nick & Kristen are family to me. Love these two!!!

Randy the Biscuit caught the garter. I caught the bouquet.
Do I see a double wedding in our near future?!

Feeling “Blue” that my Red, White & Blue Weekend is over.

Meet Evan, one of my dearest friends from college.
He’s also part of the crew shooting CMT’s “Dog & Beth: On the Hunt”
We’ve taken over Los Angeles (twice), Phoenix, Seattle, Portland and now Denver.
What city should we dominate next?!

The Red, White & Blue Weekend was an overwhelming success!
Feeling blessed today knowing I have such wonderful people in my life.

Girly with a Man’s Touch

I love being a girl but I don’t like always dressing girly.
I paired the sundress with some chunky accessories
to make it a little more trendy and a little less school girl.

Jean Vest – Old Navy
Dress – It’s so old I don’t remember where I got it from.
Bracelet – Local vendor in Grand Rapids, MI
Gladiator Sandals – Kohl’s
Nails – Orly “Green Apple”

A ring made of ash?!

Shirt & Shoes – TJ Maxx

Necklace – Burlington Coat Factory

Nails –  Fingers: Essie Blanc, Toes: Essie Play Date

Ring – Local vendor at Pike Place Market

I bought the ring, a Helenite stone made from the ash of Mount St. Helen’s, when I visited Seattle for the very first time.
Little did I know I’d wind up living in the Great Northwest!
